New In - black sandals

Today I spent the afternoon by looking for black and elegant shoes for the engagement I'm going to visit on Sunday. This time my mom remembered me early to buy that pair of shoes, the hijab and the abaya I would like to wear on that day compared to the last times. Untill now I looked incredibly improper at the last engagements because of my wrong outfits. I mean we (my family & I) are rarely visiting weddings or engagements  because most of the weddings or engagements we were invited to were not islamic (not separated & other problems). Well, this time I would like to change it and I would like to take the trouble.. okay let's see, I already have the shoes I would like to wear on Sunday, but not the abaya, not the hijab or the bag again -.-
Alright let's get back to my shoe story :D This is my first pair of high heeled shoes, so I wanted to have my first pair in black to combine them with many looks, colors, prints etc. Also I was looking for a pair with ankle straps and then I found this pair. Tomorrow I will bring them to a cobbler, because if I walk in them they're really noisy, so he can stop it (therefore check out ayah 24:30/31). The only problem which resulted now is that I can't walk in these stilts..

Hijab Tutorial #1

Well this is my first hijab tutorial. This time I use a plain, big and rose one which I bought at h&m last year. This is a "pashmina" like one :D As you can see in the first picture, you can do this hijab style with every rectangular hijab. That means your hijab can be a chiffon, jersey, viscose, georgette  or satin one. Mine is made of viscose and polyester. For chiffon or georgette hijabs I need to pin and wrap more, because they are a bit transparent und slippery, besides I don't have the time to hang around the mirror each day for 10 or more minutes just to do my hijab. That's why I love this easy way of doing this style.
It just takes less than a minute :D So what you need is a rectangular hijab and something to wear under your hijab like a cap or something like that, a safety pin and a common one. After you put your underscarf on, you have to put your hijab on. Then you pin the hijab under your chin with a safety pin and you wrap the longer side around your head (picture 4-6 that's why you have to make sure at the beginning that one side is longer than the other one). Then you need a common pin and finally you just have to pin the longer side (or that side you wraped with) on your "head" and then you're done :)

Alright I think this tutorial sounds like "Let's try to do a pony tail or a basic bun" but to be honest, I just wanted to share this easy way of "styling" a hijab with you because it covers your neck, hair and the chest area like a hijab is supposed to do it (check out these ayahs 33:59 and 24:31) plus it creates this soft and beautiful "waterfall" look (these layerings round and round picture 5,6 & 8).

The last picture shows you the oil I have to use because of my veeery dry skin. It's because of the extreme cold here and in addition to that I broke out in a rash..(only my face is affected by this). Two weeks ago we had snow here and a cream doesn't help anymore.. and due to the fakt that I have a oily skin I can't use this for my face but whenever I use it for my hands, arms etc.  I have to take a little bit of it. Well, I think I have to visit a dermatologist..

till then <3

Food Rehab - What Islam teaches us to eat..

Assalamu aleykum everyone! On Friday I spent some time after school with some of my friends. We went downtown and after a very long time we spent on looking for a good restaurant, finally we found one aside the city. I personally can't trust every "halal" restaurant or food... maybe it's a bad habit, but in the end I think that we aren't dustbins where you can throw everything in (that's why I ate only fish :D ). Therefore we have to be careful what we eat. Another thing is that this is still another  "basic" for a Muslim, to practice other things concerning to Ibada. We should be watchful. More precisely, taking care of what we eat should be an attribute of our islamic character, before we look for doing "bigger" things. And personally again, I notice that people who don't mind the "type" of the meat they eat, can't improve themselves concerning to their faith. I mean I have friends who just need to stop eating every kind of meat, to became a Hijabi for example or to start praying. If you accommodate the "type" of your meat, maybe you won't be able to do the other things, because you will accommodate them, too (only experience). Finally if we don't take care, we accommodate and this will cause other accommodatings. The "issue" of halal meat is one of importance in Islam. There are many verses (ayaats) and prophetic narrations (hadith) which are telling us to eat the lawful (halal) and not the unlawful (haram). Well I also noticed that meat is for some of us halal unless it's not pork, but that's wrong. The term halal includes the way of slaughtering, too. For this reason don't mind to check out this article to get more and better knowledge about this topic.

Fake that fur vest

Assalamu Aleykum everyone! here is a post about my outfit of the day :) Actually there's nothing special about it but I felt like I have to share it with you.. anyway, here's the post :) I'm wearing a plain marine blue abaya with a fake fur vest from Zara and a plain hijab (it's one of my last post). To be honest this is the way how I dress up every day especially for school. Because I don't have the time to think much about an outifit, that's why I take a plain abaya pair it with a vest or cardigan + a hijab then I'm done :DD what about you?

"New in" post & my closet issue

Assalamu Aleykum Ladies! I hope that you are all in a best way, inshallah! Alright, here's a litte story I would like to tell you :) Due to the fact that I read a book, which taught me how to organize my wardrobe, my clothes and how to built the "perfect" wardrobe, I'm totally in the mood to try to organize it and to rebuilt my wardrobe. I know that sounds like I wouldn't have some other worries or that I'm too bored, but let me tell you that this is a "step" for me to gett more organized and structured and it's also waaay better to see what's really in your wardrobe to find every single piece and to wear it. Otherwise it will be a wastage if you don't wear your clothes or buy a similar thing (or even the same thing, although you already have in your wardrobe, but you didn't see it).
So I spent the last day's by cleaning up my wardrobe to see what I need, would like to keep or don't to sell them on the internet. Another reason why I did this is that I noticed that the way of how I dress become a little bit "too" colorful and I also noticed that I haven't these "basics".
Every morning it's really like "I have nothing to wear" or "No fitting hijab/abaya/bag etc.". Really. Therefore I sold some of my "old" clothes/hijabs etc. to get the money for new and plain ones ( some "basics").
Secondly, I also noticed that many of my hijabs or abayas were made of the "wrong" fabric - I had too much of polyester and all that synthetic stuff. T-shirts, shorts or tops which are made of these fabrics won't make you sweat with every single and tiny move but abayas and hijabs are doing this. Therefore I decided myself to buy some new abayas and hijabs which are made up of cotton, viscose, linen etc. these are also very soft and beautiful fabrics (but sometimes a little bit pricy).
In these pictures you can see my latest order from Barakah. There you can find unique and limited hijabs and abayas (solved that "copycat problem" :DDD just joking!). I love the fact that they are selling clothes which are made up of the "right" fabric, therefore I can wear these hijabs in summer, too. These are also plain and just simple ones, but this is the most thing I love about them (especially no annoying tassels!!) and because of their big size you can wrap them on various ways and they will cover the chest area, too.
For the next time you are going to read more "building a wardrobe/ closet issue" posts on my blog :DD - Now, have a good night !

Hijabi Dont's #1

Assalamu Aleykum Ladies! Alright, here's a post in which I'm going to show/tell you my recent fashion or styling fault although I haven't done a big deal. But this was exactly the problem. On Thursday, I woke up in the morning and I noticed that I wasn't in the best mood to dress up or to think about a look and so on. Therefore I decided myself to wear somthing simple, a not-so-eye-catching-color and I had to hurry. So I took my black basic abaya, put on my black hijab and took my black blazer by mistake, too. Actually I was inspired by those "litte black dress" looks and  all in all it was a completely black outfit for school. Actually I love this color, because it's the most basic color and I feel comfortable in black, too. But as soon as I arrived at school, I noticed that some girls looked at me on a strange way.. sure I didn't mind (otherwise I wouldn't wear the hijab :D ) Some of my german friends aked me whether I would visit a funeral after school etc. Well I have to admit that I was kinda annoyed, because there were so many other girl's or boy's and even teacher's, who wore a completely black outfit. But the "problem" here was that they only saw my face and my hands :D And maybe it was deterrent for them.. However I don't want to deter them from the way of my appearance, that's not my job :D Therefore I think: A completely black outfit isn't suitable for school (but of course for other location's), especially if you are the only one who represents this dress code and nearly the only one who represents this religion, too. Alright lesson learned :D
Have good weekend and a good night - Fatima ♥
